Curriculum

The toddlers in our school are differentiated into three categories based on their speech and general development. This is done to make sure that every single child is being benefited from us and are being prepared in the same way for the kindergarten class. Every group is taken care differently and according to their needs. The kids in our school enjoy their time in both indoor and outdoor activities. Since it is a play school, every possible activity that we have specially designed or incorporated are being carried out playfully. All possible activities are either through games or using real life objects. Apart from that we also encourage kids to engage in various outdoor or playground activities whenever possible. Few of the teaching processes that are being followed in our school are as

 
  • Flashcards. A number of sets of picture cards representing objects in many different categories are rotated on the shelves in sets of ten. These sets are presented to the children as an introduction to the objects in their world and the words that name them.
  • Stories, poems, songs and chants. We make sure to gather every day for a conversational session with children where the conversation is done through stories, poems or songs. This helps in developing children’s speaking and interacting abilities.
  • Active listening. Our teachers engage in specific listening sessions with pre verbal or semi verbal kids, from time to time with utmost attention in order to develop their confidence and also encourage them to talk and communicate more often. During this process, emotional development is also highly taken care of by our fellow teachers.
  • Real objects. We focus on introducing kids with real objects like fruit, vegetables, clothes, household items etc. which are rotated regularly, allowing them to develop interest, make conversations and queries regarding the same . This allows them to make up more words in their mind to talk about on a regular basis.
  • Self-care. Our school focuses on making children self-dependent. We incorporate every possible self- care activities, such as cleaning up their faces, washing their hands, hanging their bottles and putting away their tiffin boxes. We also teach kids, how to use zips, buttons, tie shoe laces etc. They are provided as much or as little assistance they need.
  • Taking care of the environment. We incorporate activities like gardening, craft work and various other environment friendly activities to make them learn about the environment.
  • Models and replicas. Models and replicas of classified sets of objects, (each in an attractive box, basket, or tray), such as furniture, transportation, animals (farm, jungle, forest and sea), and musical instruments are rotated on the shelves and presented to the children for intellectual and language development
  • Sensory and motor activities. At our school, children are engaged in using their hands and senses together, to develop their intellect and vocabulary. We always make sure to keep a basket of rotating games or objects that will enhance those skills. Things like puzzles, stack toys are always a part of it which challenges the kids to use their senses and hands.
  • Smart Classes. Our school is equipped with smart board through which we provide interactive learning to the kids. We also arrange frequent classes for kids to watch educational movies. The students are encouraged to learn independently from the audio-visual sessions provided. This way they develop a sense of independent learning which prepare them for nursery and higher classes.
