Admissions
The admission process at Ashok Hall, MAHADEVI BIRLA SHISHU VIHAR is designed to be transparent, systematic, and student‑centric. Parents and guardians seeking school admission in Kolkata are requested to carefully go through the steps below to ensure a smooth and timely completion of all formalities.
1. Collection of Application Form
The admission application form can be obtained in either of the following ways:

- For Offline, Visit our school office during working hours & collect admission forms.
Parents are advised to read all instructions carefully before filling out the form.
2. Submission of the Application Form
The duly completed application form, along with the required supporting documents, must be submitted to the school office within the prescribed timeline. Incomplete or incorrectly filled forms may not be considered for further processing.
3. Admission Interaction
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an admission interaction, which may include a basic assessment and/or an informal meeting with the child and parents. This interaction helps the school understand the student’s academic background, aptitude, and overall development needs.
4. Offer of Admission
Based on the evaluation and availability of seats, selected candidates will receive an official offer of admission via email. The offer letter will contain details regarding the next steps, fee structure, and important deadlines.
5. Payment of Initial Admission Fee
To confirm and reserve the allotted seat, parents are required to pay the initial admission fee within the stipulated time mentioned in the offer letter. Failure to do so may result in the seat being offered to another candidate.
6. Completion of Admission Formalities
After the fee payment, parents must complete all remaining admission formalities, including:
- Submission of original documents for verification
- Submission of required certificates and photographs
- Completion of any pending forms or declarations
All documents must be submitted within the specified timeframe to ensure final confirmation of admission.
Documents Required for Admission
Parents/guardians are required to submit the following documents at the time of admission for verification and record purposes. Submission of complete and valid documents is mandatory for the confirmation of admission.
- Birth Certificate of the student (original and photocopy)
- Previous Year’s Report Card (from Class 1 onwards)
- Aadhaar Card of the student (photocopy)
- Aadhaar Card of both parents/guardians (photocopy)
- Address Proof of parents/guardians (such as Aadhaar card, passport, utility bill, etc.)
Parents are advised to carry both original documents and photocopies for verification during the admission process.
Age Criteria for 2026-2027
For Classes :Preschool - Nursery, Lower Infant, Upper Infant
- Nursery : Students aged 3 yrs. as on 1.4.2026 i.e. students born before 1.4.2023
- Lower Infant : Students aged 4 yrs. as on 1.4.2026 i.e. students born 1.4.2022
- Upper Infant : Students aged 5 yrs. as on 1.4.2026 i.e. students born 1.4.2021
For Classes :Primary School - Class I - V
- Class I : students aged 6 yrs. on 1.4.2025 and last report card of previous school
- Class II : Students aged 7 yrs. on 1.4.2025 and last report card of previous school
- Class III : Students aged 8 yrs. on 1.4.2025 and last report card of previous school
For Classes :Middle & Senior School - Class VI – VII & IX
Criteria: Successful completion of previous grade.

Admission procedure at Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar 2025-2026
Age Criteria:
- Nursery : Students aged 3 yrs. as on 1.4.2025 i.e. students born before 1.4.2022
- Lower Infant : Students aged 4 yrs. as on 1.4.2025 i.e. students born 1.4.2021
- Upper Infant : Students aged 5 yrs. as on 1.4.2025 i.e. students born 1.4.2020
- Class I : students aged 6 yrs. on 1.4.2025 and last report card of previous school
- Class II : Students aged 7 yrs. on 1.4.2025 and last report card of previous school
- Class III : Students aged 8 yrs. on 1.4.2025 and last report card of previous school
Primary School
Classes : Nursery – Class V
Procedure:
- Admission Form can be collected either online through school website or offline from the school office
- Submission of the admission form
- Admission interaction with the candidate and the parents
- On selection, an offer letter is sent through a mail
- Parents have to submit the initial admission fee to reserve the seat
- Completion of admission formalities and submission of requisite documents within the stipulated time
Middle and Senior School
Classes: VI – VII & IX
Criteria: Successful completion of previous grade.
Procedure:
- Admission Form can to be collected either online through school website or offline from the school office
- Submission of the admission form
- Admission Test of the candidate and interaction with the candidate and the parents
- On selection, an offer letter is sent through a mail
- Parents have to submit the initial admission fee to reserve the seat
- Completion of admission formalities and submission of requisite documents within the stipulated time
