The School: Founded in the year 1951 with just a handful of girls, Ashok Hall Girls' Higher Secondary School has blossomed into one of the premier educational institutions of the country. It is the second education institution founded under Ashok hall Group of Schools.

Our Junior Section (Lower Infant to Class 5) is located on Palm Avenue, and our Senior Section for Classes 6 – 12 is located on AJC Bose Road, Minto Park; both central to the city.
On 2nd December, 2023, the interschool basketball championship was organised in the premises of Little Steps School, another institution under the Ashok Hall Group of Schools. Ashok Hall Girls’ Higher Secondary School stood proud champions in their category as Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar took home the runners up trophy.
Ashok Hall Girls' Higher Secondary School participated in X-Uberance on 11th,12th and 13th of August 2023. The students showcased their exceptional talent which resulted in the school bagging the Best School Award. Indeed a proud moment.
Independence Day was commemorated by us with much enthusiasm. The national flag was hoisted followed by singing patriotic songs and the National Anthem. For us students, this 76th Independence Day is a reminder of our duties and obligations towards our country as citizens of India and that the future of this country is in our hands. It is us who shall bring the change that we want to see.
One of the main concerns of today's world is deforestation, which is hampering the ecological balance in an adverse way and the pollution level is ever increasing. To counter deforestation and make environment healthy, our school has taken many initiatives. All students from class I to class XII have taken the pledge to "plant a sapling," to contribute in our own little way to improve the environment and fight pollution as trees are the best friends of all living being on this earth.
Mental health advocacy institution of West Bengal, Caring Minds had recently held a contest themed "Luvv You Zindagi" to acknowledge the vital importance of mental health; a topic often swept under the rug and barely thrown limelight upon. They had a total of 6 categories out of which the "Radio Jingle" had declared Rishika Manna from XI S2 of Ashok Hall Girls' Higher Secondary School as its winner.
On the 11th of January, 2024, Ashok Hall Girls’ Higher Secondary School posed as a participating institution to the Connectech Science and Technology Fair organised by UEM-IEM.A total of 35 students were selected from Ashok Hall Girls’ Higher Secondary School to represent the school in all the 6 categories that the competition organised, which were: Tech Art, Pythagoras Star, Pythagoras Pro, Nirmana, Curiosity and Bio Brilliance.
The Ashok Hall Chess Team consisting of Rajanya Sengupta, Srinka Guin, Srijita Das, and Saparya Ghosh won the CBSE Far East Zone Team Chess Championship held at Guwahati, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament. Rajanya, Srinika, and Saparya all bagged the board prizes in their respective boards.
Spardha was the fest organised by the school Mahadevi Birla World Academy during the month of January in the year 2024 . It was based on the theme " Mother Earth" and was only for the middle school students. Our school participated in all 5 events and secured 3rd position in ' Face Art".
Organised on 9 and 10th April 2024,the bootcamp was a synthesis of dynamic sessions by eminent resource persons of respective fields related with the five modules of the School Innovation Ambassador’s Training Program of Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, AICTE, CBSE. The Bootcamp aimed to nurture the innovation, design and entrepreneurial skills of student innovators, teachers and principals from schools. It was being organised in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation, renowned for its support of entrepreneurship education.
On the 28th of July 2023,Ashok Hall Girls' Higher Secondary School was home to CBSE's lastest launch, 'bagless days' , the concept is aimed at the enrichment of activities involving the inculcation of the arts, culture, sports and heritage. It is an academic simulation on the realistic setting of the localised bazaars and haats.
