The School: Inaugurated as the first educational institution under Ashok hall Group of Schools, Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar was established in the year 1946.
Initially founded as a playschool by Late Sarala Birla for her son, Shri Aditya Vikram Birla, our prestigious institution completes its 75th year as one of the most trusted schools in Kolkata . Since the time of its inception, our founder Late Sarala Birla’s astute faith in child-centric education has helped the school evolve into an institute par excellence.
We became the first school in Kolkata to be certified by the International Organisation for Standardisation, sharing compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
Our rapidly growing Alumni association holds a record of trailblazing achievements of our students, both academically and professionally.
The school is affiliated with the Council for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE Board), New Delhi.

From relays to fun races, every moment was filled with cheers and encouragement. The camaraderie among students and teachers created a memorable day of healthy competition and school spirit. Kolkata Police has initiated a commendable effort to foster awareness and promote responsible behaviour on the streets. The students actively spread awareness about the importance of adhering to traffic rules, wearing helmets, and practising safe driving habits. Through creative displays, they conveyed key messages to pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists alike and walked across the seven-point crossing escorted by the officers.

It required the teaming up of parents and their children of the junior sections to create dishes representing the three colours of the Indian flag. The Judges were highly pleased with the colourful display of eclectic food items presented by 40 different teams. The school buzzed with excitement as the participants, both young and old, presented their tricolour dishes with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The delectable food items comprised Chocolate Mousse, Shahi Tukra, Tres Leches Cake, Kulhad Pizza, Red Velvet Cake, Korean Potato Coins, Bird's Nest and many more. With a delightful blend of creativity, skill and innovation, the students not only showed their enthusiasm for culinary art but also inspired others to don the apron of aspiring chefs!
